Becoming

When I was younger,

I wanted to teach,

So I became a tutor.

.

Then I wanted to write,

So I became a writer.

.

Then I wanted to advocate for justice,

So I became a lawyer.

.

Then I wanted to resolve disputes,

So I became a mediator.

.

Then I wanted to do business

So I became a boss.

.

Then I wanted to be free,

So I left all that behind

to stop becoming.
