In these Uncertain Times

Although not much has been posted on this website this year, but much has happened beyond this site. A new charity called Metta Centre was born and blossomed, and much of my year’s efforts went into that. Despite the busyness, my muse still calls to me. Many unformed stories continue to form in my head, waiting for me to purge them to paper and make them real. I’ve also been exploring Spoken Word, a form of poetry to be performed.

Coupling my passion for writing, my interest in performance, and love for the world, I created a short video as a message to the citizens of this world. I wrote the first words in the wake of the Trump election, when my social media feed filled with anger, angst and fear. Besides news stories about Trump, I read stories after stores about the wars and conflicts in the world. I read about the cruelty of humanity, to fellow humans and also to animals and our environment. In my own life, friends and clients, were battling their own wars – with others and within themselves.

I felt a strong urge to do something for the world, but what could I do? So I wrote some words to a page, and that began my journey in creating this video. I know a video is not going to change the world, but I hope that if this changes just one person in just one moment to react with love rather than hate, with kindness rather than anger, then I think this video is worth it after all. If you feel this message is worth spreading, please share it because peace is not a privilege for only the wealthy or fortunate, but peace can only happen if it touches everyone without discrimination, after all world peace starts right here within each of us.
